ABOUT US

Hi my name is Crystal, and I have started The Science of FemininiTee in order to advocate for women of all ages interested in science. I was inspired to start this company after noticing in many stores that science shirts were only marketed towards men and young boys. All of our shirts are designed by me with the intent to encourage more girls to pursue their passion for science.
Not only is my mission to inspire more young girls to cultivate an interest in science, I also aim to empower women currently working in all science fields. I am currently working towards a degree in forensic science. In my class, we were learning how to prepare for expert witness testimony. My professor explained to the girls that in order for our testimony to be deemed credible we would have to dress a certain way. We would have to put our hair up and back, wear minimal jewelry, and dress in dark colors- basically we would have to dress less feminine. This is a problem found across all science fields. Women are expected to tone down their femininity in order to be seen as equals with their male colleagues. I hope that this company will encourage not only young girls, but women currently working in every scientific field to express themselves in any way they choose.
